Low birth weight
Low birth weight refers to newborns who weigh less than 2,500 grams (5 pounds); babies born weighing lower than average. One of the most direct causes is Pre-term births (delivery before 37 weeks of gestation ). These babies have a higher risk for developmental and mental complications and infant mortality.
