Epigenetic principle refers to a biological plan for growth such that each function emerges in a systematic sequence until the fully functioning organism has developed.
In Erikson’s theory, it is the idea that each psychosocial strength has its own special period of particular importance, the the notion that development is guided by an underlying plan in which certain issues have their own particular times of importance. (See Erikson's Psychosocial theory)
