Organic mental disorder or OMD refers to a mental or emotional problem caused by brain diseases or injuries. Moreover, Organic mental disorders refer to organic brain disorders which resulted from structural pathology, as in Dementia, or from disturbed central nervous system (CNS) function, as in fever-induced Delirium. Organic mental disorders do not include mental and behavioural disorders due to alcohol and misuse of drugs.
