Occipital lobe is the posterior (caudal) section of the cerebral cortex; division of the cerebral cortex located at the back of the head that is involved in the processing of visual information.

Occipital Lobe processes visual information and passes its conclusions to the parietal and temporal lobes. It is lobe at the back of the cortex that is the site of the cortical receiving area for vision. One of the four (4) cortical lobes, primarily dedicated to visual processing. Occipital lobe is associated with visual processing, the primary motor cortex, which specializes in the planning, control, and execution of movement, particularly of movement involving any kind of delayed response.
