Preemployment

Preemption principle refers to the principle that the speech of a child's linguistic environment preempts or suppresses the language bioprogram.

Preestablished harmony

Preestablished harmony is Leibniz's contention that God had created the monads composing the universe in such a way that a continuous harmony existed among them. This explained why mental and bodily events were coordinated. Likewise, Preestablished harmony is the belief that bodily events and mental events are separate but correlated because both were designed to run identical courses.

Preference method

Preference method is a method used to gain information about infants’ perceptual abilities by presenting two (2) or more stimuli and observing which stimulus the infant prefers.

Preference-for-novelty paradigms are tasks in which an infant's preference, often measured in looking time, for a novel as opposed to a familiar stimulus is used as an indication of memory for the familiar stimulus.
